–The Chancey Charm Team
I grew up in Los Angeles (the Valley!), went to college in San Diego, and I’m now living in Nashville.
What did you do prior to joining Chancey Charm?
I’ve loved wedding planning my whole life, but I am also currently the marketing director of Country Radio Seminar. I’ve been doing it for 3 years, and launched my own event company, Silver Celebrations about 8 months ago, before it led me to Chancey Charm.
What’s your favorite part of the planning process?
I love checklists. Post-it should totally sponsor me. I love getting things marked off of the to-do list. I also love brainstorming design ideas with the brides and creating floral arrangements for centerpieces.
What’s your favorite style?
It depends on the time of year, but I’m a big fan of open spaces with great lighting, muted tones, and boho feels. I also love rose gold… serious obsession.
What’s your advice for someone thinking about becoming a planner or joining the wedding industry?
Make as many friendors as you can! They’ll come in handy. Also – have an open mind. You won’t like every decor option your brides like, but you have to remember it’s their wedding, not yours, and you are there to carry out their vision.
Why Chancey Charm?
I am excited about better branding and publicity for the weddings I work on, but beyond that, I am honored to be behind a brand that not only has respect and credibility behind it, but also the people I’ve worked with so far are lovely. It is nice to feel loved and appreciated, and comfortable with people you plan to spend a lot of your life with!
What’s your best piece of advice for a new bride?
Enjoy it! It goes by too fast and when you spend all that time planning and not enjoying your engagement, you’ll look back with regrets. Also – eat the donuts. They’re worth it, and you’re beautiful no matter what.
What’s your favorite reception song, you know the one you secretly dance to in the back when you think no one is watching?
I’m a sucker for 2000s pop, Motown and Country. I’d say it’s a toss up between the oh-so-cheesy “Signed, Sealed, Delivered” – Stevie Wonder, the sweet “My Little Girl” – Tim Mcgraw, or the best boy band song ever, “All or Nothing” – O-Town. But I also work in the music industry, so I literally love every song, ever.
Do you have any pets?
No, but we are getting a puppy in a month and I. CAN’T. WAIT!
Do you have a hobby?
I love seeing live music and practicing my calligraphy, checking out cool typography prints. Also, I’m a big fan of road trips and French fries.
What’s your favorite flower or gown designer?
My favorite flower is Thistle. I get made fun of all the time by my boyfriend, who seems to think it’s a weed that’s on the side of highways. My favorite gown designer is hands down Maggie Sottero.
What’s your favorite movie?
“Bridesmaids” (the most quotable movie ever made).
What’s your favorite restaurant in your city?
Probably Edgehill Cafe. It’s nothing fancy, but it’s my safe place, and the coziest, yummiest coffee shop in town.
