We are absolutely thrilled to announce and welcome our Chancey Charm Charlotte Wedding Planner and Coordinator, Lindsay Rowell! Lindsay’s wealth of knowledge comes from a degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management and a Certificate in Event Management from The Culinary Institute of Charleston, plus over eight years in the industry working for one of Charlotte’s top caterers. When she’s not planning Charlotte and destination weddings in the North Carolina mountains, you can find her and her husband (and their pup Ellie Mae) boating on Lake Norman, or in the kitchen cooking up something delicious and nutritious. Get to know Lindsay below! She’s sharing what she loves most about her city, her favorite first dance song + more!

Why Charlotte? What do you love about this city?
I was born and raised in Charlotte, NC. I went to school in Charleston, but Charlotte has always held a special place in my heart, so I decided to return home when I finished school. Charlotte has grown so much over the years and has a lot to offer couples looking to be wed in North Carolina, as well as NC natives. If you are looking for a fancy night out on the town, you can head to Uptown Charlotte, which is home to some of the best gourmet restaurants around. If you are looking for a fun outdoor activity, all you have to do is drive 20 to 30 minutes to one of our beautiful lakes (my personal favorite activity). We also have the Whitewater Rafting Center that has a lot of fun activities to offer. Cities surrounding Charlotte also offer rolling hills of beautiful farmland.
What drew you to wedding planning?
Weddings have been a passion of mine since I was a little girl. I remember when a family member asked me to be a flower girl – I felt so special. After that wedding, I couldn’t wait to go to the next one. And as I grew up, I remember asking my mom if I could be a wedding planner in real life! My goal and passion is to have every bride look back at her wedding and feel like it was a dream they want to re-live every day.
What’s your favorite Sunday afternoon activity?
Making a picnic and going on a boat cruise around Lake Norman!
Do you have any pets?
Yes, we have a three-year-old yellow lab, Ellie Mae.
Christmas! I love all of our fun family traditions, like going to the mountains to get our Christmas tree and baking and cooking for my family and friends.
Best first dance song?
You Are the Best Thing, Ray LaMontagne
A long weekend includes…
Weekend mountain getaways to our favorite spots, such as Blowing Rock, NC.
Favorite wedding blog?
100 Layer Cake
Best place for a dessert?
Amélie’s French Bakery & Café. They have the best Macaroons in Charlotte, if you ask me! (We believe her, if you can’t tell – Lindsay is a foodie!)
