Denver Wedding Planner Spotlight | Courtney Aplin
Why Denver? What do you love about this city?
I have lived in Colorado my whole life and have lived in a few different cities throughout Colorado, but Denver is by far the best city in Colorado. Denver is amazing because it has a little bit of everything. You can always find something to do here, whether it’s trying out a new brewery, going to see a sports games, shopping, or just enjoying a day in the city, you will always find something to do. Not only is Denver filled with things to do, but it has places nearby that you can’t miss. Red Rocks is known for the best outdoor concerts or films, the mountains are a couple hours west, so you can get up there quickly to enjoy snowboarding or skiing. I also love that Denver isn’t extremely large, so it is very easy to navigate around.
What did you do prior to joining Chancey Charm?
I worked at a wedding venue and then moved down to Denver to work at the Embassy Suites as an executive meeting manager. Along with these jobs I started my own wedding planning company, Every Little Detail, and would plan weddings on the side, which what drew me to Chancey Charm.
What drew you to planning + the wedding industry?
While I was studying hospitality management at Colorado State University, I got a job at a wedding venue as one of the venue coordinators and there I did a bunch of weddings, which made me more interested in weddings. I loved how weddings were such a happy day for the couples, families, and friends, so it always made for a fun day, even though it could be stressful at times. From learning all about weddings at the venue, I then started doing weddings on my own with Every Little Detail and enjoyed starting from the beginning with the couple and being there through the entire planning process and seeing start to finish.
What’s your favorite part of the planning process?
My favorite part of the planning process is creating the design board for couples. It is a blast working with different colors, textures, flowers, and ideas to create their wedding vision.
Do you have any pets?
Avery is my fluffy 4 year old golden retriever and is my little princess.
Christmas is definitely my favorite holiday. All the decorations, trees, lights, and getting together with friends and family makes me so happy! And when it is a white Christmas, even better 🙂
Best first dance song?
It changes all the time, but my absolute favorite first dance song is God Gave Me You.
A long weekend off includes…
Hiking with Avery and friends, trying out new restaurants, or going shopping. I also like to go to coffee shops I’ve never been to.
What’s your favorite style?
My favorite style is the romantic style. I think bringing soft hues, warm lighting, and lots of greenery and florals makes for a beautiful wedding.
Best place for a dessert in Denver…
I absolutely love The Inventing Room Dessert Shop. Such a fun atmosphere, along with amazing desserts. If you’re in Denver you gotta try it out
