As you may anticipate, my life and my mind are still spinning over here. Life may look normal or even glamorous from the outside, but inside my mind and personal life, nothing feels the same. And, honestly, I’m still figuring it all out daily. But, I’ve promised myself that I’ll push through on these Sarah’s Style personal posts. That I’ll be honest and raw right here on the internet + our socials and hope that God uses it in the life of others, however he feels best. Because I know I’m not the only one here right now, in this place where life is both beautiful and challenging all at the same time. In this month’s Sarah’s Style, I’m sharing a few resources I pray bless you or perhaps someone you know.

What I’m Reading: Bittersweet
This book has been a God-send for me in this season. Its underlying concept is the idea that life is both good and hard all at the same time. It’s crazy because I let this book sit by my bed for over a year, waiting for me. I tried diving in once and just couldn’t get there. Then, right before my dad passed, I picked it back up again. What incredibly perfect timing.
I know this will sound so immature, but y’all… I have been INCREDIBLY blessed my entire life. My family, though it wasn’t perfect, was a dream and I LOVED my family something fierce, especially my sweet daddy. I really did have the absolute gift of seeing my world through rose-colored glasses. My dad’s passing has me looking at life, really for the first time, as it truly is – both wonderful, enchanting AND challenging. The concept that life is “one big cocktail party” is over for me. Maybe that sounds sad, but this book challenged me to see it as a call to breathe in the incredible moments of life a little more deeply, to allow grief and challenges to strengthen me and provide prospective.
I highly recommend this book, especially if you’ve recently experienced loss or specifically a miscarriage, which Shauna references often from her own experiences.
What’s Changing My Business: Flourish & Co.
Daily, I’m talking about the concept of investing in your brand, for outside perspective + energy over in my free wedding vendor workshop. I’m a BIG fan of surrounding yourself as a creative entrepreneur with other women who see you better than you see yourself.
I’ve invested in professional branding, a professional website, a professional PR guru + social media expert. So, this past summer, when I was on EMPTY from months of visiting my dad during Boaz’s preschool hours (aka my normal toddler-free work hours) I decided to meet with life coach Katie Crocombe of Flourish & Co. Typically, at the end of the year, I like to host an exciting team call that gets my team pumped about the year ahead. I asked Katie if she would step in and lead that session with my team, helping us all get our game faces on, while focusing on fresh work-life balance perspectives in the new year.
This past week was our first of five team coaching calls with Katie. WOW. It was exactly what I / we needed. And, the timing couldn’t have been better. Isn’t it amazing how God always seems to know exactly what we need, before we do? Love it! I completely recommend you check out Katie and her free resources for GRACE filled goal setting!
That’s it from me for this month’s Sarah’s Style. Happy growing loves!
