Spring wedding season is officially in full swing, which means our weekends are filled with beautiful weddings and our client mood boards are being brought to life in a stunning way. 2017 weddings have been especially fun for our team to plan, as now more than ever, brides are personalizing their wedding to be a true reflection of their style. They’re also taking into consideration ways they can make the guest experience that much more memorable. We’re sharing some of our favorite wedding trends we’re currently loving from this year’s weddings, from natural elements to Rent The Runway and everything in between. Enjoy!

  • Making your wedding 100% personalized to your guests! Some ways our brides have done this: handwritten notes at each place setting, personal photos of guests at their own weddings (great conversation piece and makes ALL guests feel like a special part of the wedding), having a family member marry you and your husband-to-be, even having a nephew draw up the place cards (having a child’s handwriting is so sweet!). This type of attention to detail makes your wedding inclusive to all guests and truly unique! –Chancey Charm Boston Wedding Planner
  • Flower crowns are getting a makeover! One of my favorite trends for brides this year: bridal crowns and tiaras! Flower crowns definitely had a moment in 2016, but 2017 brings way to intricate tiaras and headpieces that add a little extra elegance on a bride’s big day. I love the whimsical feel that they can add to a look, and not-to mention that they pair perfectly with a loose, wispy hairstyle and dewy makeup. Perfect for the bride who wants that extra dose of romance. And I mean, who wouldn’t want to feel like a queen on her wedding day?! –Chancey Charm Charleston Wedding Planner
  • Getting back in touch with nature. Millennials have a draw to “getting back to nature” and this bleeds over into their wedding design as well. Natural textures – marble, wood, rough linen, natural silks – are becoming a fixture in designing for couples. Imagine marble tile place cards, beeswax taper candles, and blush plant-dyed silk table runners for a romantic ballroom. Hanging a laser cut wooden crest behind the band’s stage, placing soft stonewashed linen napkins at each setting, and mixing stone votives in with a garland running down the head table all add these eye grabbing textures to your outdoor garden wedding. The best thing about incorporating these natural textures is that they work so well together and can be translated into any style of wedding. –Chancey Charm Houston Wedding Planner

  • Online ordering for your bridal party. Out goes making everyone meet up at a bridal salon on a Saturday. And thank goodness because I think we can all agree that most ladies hate trying on sample dresses at a bridal store on a busy Saturday afternoon. Rent the Runway for your bridesmaids helps save on costs for your girls and lets them get a designer name for your wedding. It also makes it easy for parties across the country, or even world, to enter in their sizes and order a dress, and not have that dress living in their closet forever. They simply pop it back in the mail come Monday! The same goes for guys – companies like Generation Tux are wonderful alternatives. They even have YouTube videos on their site to show how to take measurements! –Chancey Charm Boston Wedding Planner
  • Less focus on getting the perfect shot + more focus on telling a story visually. 2016 brought a heavy spotlight on those dreamy, creamy film portraits that everyone loves, but we see 2017 couples focusing less on capturing the perfect shot, and more on telling the story of their wedding day. Candid, real, emotion-filled moments are what couples are wanting to capture – from start to finish. Sweet memories they will be able to share for a lifetime! –Chancey Charm Charleston Wedding Planner
