WHAT MAKES OUR PLANNING PROCESS UNIQUE:
Wedding planning doesn’t need to be stressful. In fact, it can (and should) be exciting and fun! Our goal is to give our clients an incredible planning experience and to make this entire process as enjoyable as possible.
In order to do this we offer our brides support in both “Full Planning” and “Month-of” capacities depending on the amount of assistance they need. But no matter how much support a bride chooses, she always has access to our incredible suite of online planning tools.
Our goal is that all of our brides feel relaxed and calm from “Yes!” to “I do!” knowing that they have an extraordinary team of planners and designers behind them every step of the way!

MEET THE CHARLOTTESVILLE TEAM
Lead Charlottesville Wedding Planner
Alana is as seasoned as they come (with over 75 weddings under her belt!), so it’s no surprise that she serves as Chancey Charm’s lead Charlottesville wedding planner and coordinator. Prior to joining us at Chancey Charm, Alana planned events with the Coastal Occasions team, and worked with couples to create beautiful celebrations at the Reservoir in Richmond. Alana has made a name for herself in the Charlottesville special events community, and we are so fortunate to have her on our team.
Raised in Virginia, Alana is a proud graduate of Virginia Tech with a B.A. in Public Relations and Communications. This skillset has been a huge asset to her throughout her career, and has helped her build strong connections within the Charlottesville wedding community.
For Alana, every wedding in Charlottesville is a chance to transport her couples to an unforgettable, romantic escape where they can celebrate their love story with friends and family. Her work has recently been featured on top wedding blogs like: Style Me Pretty, Ruffled, Wedding Chicks, WeddingLovely, Borrowed & Blue and Tidewater and Tulle. And her expert planning advice has been featured numerous times on Brides and BridalGuide.com.
In her spare time, Alana plays a huge role in organizing charitable events at her local community’s Relay for Life, which is a nonprofit very close to her heart. She also enjoys afternoons spent getting lost in the streets of a new city, watching football (Go Steelers and Hokies!), loving on her sweet pup Bentley, or tackling a tough hike.

Weddings are one of the happiest days of a person’s life. As a little girl, you grow up dreaming about your wedding day and all of the little details like: the yummy food, silly dancing, fancy dresses–and everything in between!
I love being able to see my client’s dreams turn into a reality. The reception is such a wonderful time where family and friends are able to genuinely experience the love and happiness the couple has. Jena realized her love for weddings and her natural ability to coordinate events after planning her own wedding to her college sweetheart at the picturesque Inn at Willow Grove.
And this lady is one smart cookie! After graduating from High Point University with a B.A. in History and Studio Art, she went to Law School at the University of Baltimore School of Law. Her strengths in both the art world, as well as the world of law have combined to create one incredible planner, and we’re thrilled to have her on the Chancey Charm team.
When she’s not planning events, you can find her painting, crafting, designing, or more likely, chasing after her daughter and/or her pup Waldo.

The best part of our team philosophy is that as a Chancey Charm bride, you are not only getting the expertise, knowledge, and connections of the planner you are working with, but you also have that kind of support from an entire national team of luxury wedding planners. It truly is the best of both worlds; you receive expert personal attention from one planner and the knowledge and experience of many!
We offer a version of “day-of” known as “month-of” coordination. It’s a common misconception that wedding coordinators can come in on your wedding day without having spent time reviewing the details and troubleshooting potential issues, and still be able to execute a flawless event. Unfortunately, that isn’t the case.
As planners, we want to make sure that we have enough time to gather the information needed to manage all of the details you’ve put together, while making sure that we troubleshoot any issues that could come up so that there are no unwelcome surprises on your wedding day.
Therefore, our “month-of” coordination package starts one month before your wedding date to ensure that we have had enough time to familiarize ourselves with all the details and logistics necessary to ensure your event runs smoothly.
We promise, once you’re a month out from your day, you’ll be so relieved to be able to enjoy the last few weeks before you say “I do!” that you’ll readily hand off the reins to a trusted professional who can take on the responsibility of ensuring a stress-free wedding day.
Our full planning and design package is created to assist you throughout every step of your wedding planning process. From help with vendor selection and negotiation, to the creation of a custom design plan, we can do it all! Oh and don’t worry, we don’t select your vendors for you. Rather, like we do with most aspects of the planning process, we’ll narrow down the sea of possibilities and provide you with a list of curated choices that fit your budget and taste preferences. Then we take those options and present them to you to make the final decision.
And since each bride is different in terms of the amount of guidance they need, we customize each proposal to fit their unique level of support. There’s not a lot that we won’t do for our full service brides!
ABSOLUTELY! We are happy to add design services to any month of coordination package, and it’s already included in our full service planning packages.
Our approach to event design is one-of-a-kind and it is one of our favorite parts of the entire planning process. We start by sitting down with you and your fiancé in order to really get to know you both as a couple. We’ll ask you questions to learn more about your personal style, then we’ll work with you to create a comprehensive design plan that outlines all of the aesthetic details for your big day so you’ll be able to envision exactly what it will look like when you celebrate with your loved ones.
Our goal is to incorporate as much of your personality and personal style into your wedding day as possible so your event feels like a beautiful representation of who you both are as a couple, rather than just a pretty “Pinterest-worthy” wedding.
We have to say, we are pretty fast when it comes to communicating with our couples! Email is the best way to reach our team since we can’t always answer our phones when we are in meetings or on-site. You can typically expect a response within 24 hours unless you’re reaching out on a weekend when we’re executing an event or spending a little time with our families.
We do not charge our clients on an hourly basis. Instead, we assess your needs during the consultation phase and determine a flat fee that will cover the entirety of the planning process. Your price will never increase once a contract is agreed upon, and your fee includes your planning services as well as unlimited communication throughout the entire process.
Absolutely! We love sharing our insider knowledge about the Charlottesville wedding scene with our destination clients. Our goal is to give them an authentic, Virginia wedding experience without the hassle and research that’s often necessary when planning an event in an unfamiliar locale.
Plus, all of our planners use a custom, online planning system to ensure that the details of your wedding day are accounted for, allowing you to watch the progress of your event from anywhere in the world. Our clients tell us this tool makes destination wedding planning a breeze!
We plan events in and around Charlottesville, Richmond, and Washington DC–so pretty much all of Virginia! Some of our favorite venues include are Early Mountain Vineyard, the Clifton, the Willard and John Marshall Ballrooms. And don’t worry if your venue is new to us, or if you’re planning an event at a private estate. While we understand that it can be scary trusting someone with your wedding if they haven’t worked at your venue before, rest assured, that doesn’t scare us at all! In fact, we love the challenge and fresh energy that we get from designing an event in a new space.
