Washington, DC Wedding Planner Spotlight | Alana Futcher

Name

Alana Futcher

Hometown

Richmond, VA

What did you do prior to joining Chancey Charm / What drew you to planning?

Through internships, I assisted other wedding planners in the Richmond area as well as in Jacksonville Florida. I always loved the way a planner could turn a vision into reality.

What’s your favorite part of the planning process?

My favorite part of the planning process would have to be getting to know the couple that I am working with. It is always so great to see their love for each other show through their wedding style.

What’s your favorite style?

I am a huge fan of the rustic style. It always has a vintage, yet modern feel throughout the details.

What’s your advice for someone thinking about becoming a planner or joining the wedding industry?

Follow your dreams and be patient, brides never go out of style 🙂

Why Chancey Charm?

Chancey Charm has allowed me to show my creative side and really pursue my planning style, while working with a group of ladies that inspire me each and every day.

What’s your best piece of advice for a new bride?

Have fun with it! Don’t stress the little things because at the end of the day you found the one you love.

What’s your favorite reception song, you know the one you secretly dance too in the back when you think no one is watching?

Backstreet Boys. Any backstreet boy song gets my attention.

What’s your favorite way to spend a Sunday afternoon?

Depends on the season, during football season we live and breathe football but in the spring and summer I enjoy hanging out by the pool or spending time with family and friends on the screened in porch.

Do you have any pets?

Yes!! A puppy named Bentley!!

Do you have a hobby?

Sports. I love watching sports. And taking cycle classes with my mom and sister.

What’s your favorite flower or gown designer?

Hydrangeas!!

What’s your favorite movie?

A Walk to Remember
