Trump National Golf Club
Wedding Venue Location
Potomac Falls, VA
When did you open?
The club first opened as the Lowe’s Island Club in 1990, and was purchased by the Trump Organization in 2009. Since the purchase, the Trump Organization has done a lot of remodeling and improvements to the club, including expanding the ballroom and building a waterfall with deck, which is ideal for wedding ceremonies.
How many people does your venue hold for an event?
250-300 people for a wedding
What makes your venue unique?
We are fortunate to have not only a beautiful ballroom and indoor décor, but also enjoy sweeping views of the golf course and Potomac River. The ballroom features oversized windows, which allows for the natural light to come in, and allows guests to take in the unique views. We also feature two golf courses, which makes the club a great location for larger golf outings.
Best piece of planning advice to a new bride
Pick a venue that not only goes with the theme and style of your wedding, but also complements your relationship and personalities. Every aspect of your wedding should be unique to you and your fiancé, and the venue plays such a large role in setting the tone for your special day.
What’s your ideal couple like?
My ideal couple is one that isn’t afraid to ask questions or to think outside of the box. We are always willing to work with couples that are looking to have a unique twist to their wedding. Some of the best weddings are those that are personalized to you and your fiancé. For example, we recently did a wedding in which the couple was honeymooning in Hawaii, and wanted to serve a Blue Hawaiian cocktail during their cocktail hour. We have also had a bride ask us to replicate a dish that her grandmother used to make for her when she was growing up. This signature dish was a huge hit with the bride’s family, and everyone enjoyed sharing in the memory of “Nana”, and even gave others the opportunity to reminisce about their own grandparents and memories. Working with creative couples is always so much fun, and helps us to expand our ability to celebrate these special occasions with them.
